Product Description
5052 aluminum alloy is a typical example of aluminum-magnesium (Al-Mg) series anti-rust aluminum. With its outstanding comprehensive properties - including excellent corrosion resistance, good welding and forming properties, and higher strength than ordinary pure aluminum and aluminum-manganese alloys - it has become one of the more widely used aluminum alloys in the industrial field. It cannot be strengthened through heat treatment, but its performance is mainly enhanced through cold working hardening.
Main advantages and features:
Outstanding corrosion resistance: Particularly outstanding in aluminum-magnesium alloys, especially resistant to marine atmosphere and salt spray corrosion. Its performance is superior to that of 2-series, 7-series alloys, and also better than 3003 aluminum-manganese alloy.
Excellent welding performance: Can be welded using various methods such as argon arc welding (TIG/MIG), resistance welding, etc. The weld seam is aesthetically pleasing, and the strength of the welded joint can reach over 90% of the base material. It is an ideal choice for manufacturing welded structures.
Good forming processability: The O-state material has excellent deep drawing and tensile properties. The H32/H34 state can also undergo bending, rolling, and other processing. However, its cutting performance is relatively average.
Outstanding surface treatment performance: The anodizing effect is excellent, allowing for the formation of a hard, dense, and decorative oxide film. It is easy to color. Main application fields:
Transportation:
Automotive industry: Used for manufacturing car fuel tanks (due to its excellent molding properties and fuel resistance), bus/truck body panels, bumpers, seat frames, etc.
Ships and marine engineering: It is a key material for manufacturing yacht hulls, decks, superstructures and shipping containers, mainly utilizing its outstanding resistance to seawater corrosion.
Aerospace: Used for aircraft fuel tanks, fuel lines and non-load-bearing structural components.
Architecture and Decoration:
Used for building curtain wall panels, roof systems, and interior wall decorative panels. Its weather resistance, weldability, and diverse surface treatment capabilities (such as fluorocarbon spraying) make it widely used in modern architecture. For example: manufacturing window frames, canopies, partitions, etc.
Electronics and electrical components and enclosures:
Used for manufacturing the shells of mobile phones/computers, TV frames, hard drive covers, heat sink substrates, etc., taking into account lightweight, strength, electromagnetic shielding and appearance texture.
Also used for manufacturing instrument panels, control boxes and cabinet structures.
Tank body and pressure vessel:
It is commonly used for manufacturing chemical liquid storage tanks, transport tank body of tanker trucks, beer fermentation tanks, beverage mixing tanks, etc. Due to its excellent corrosion resistance to various media and pollution-free characteristics.
Other industrial fields:
Signage and hardware: Manufacturing advanced signage, display cases, and hardware for furniture.
